Excel editing allows the user to modify different attributes with different values across a set of objects of the same subtype, requiring the following steps:

retrieve the metadata of the objects by downloading a specific Excel file for editing

modify the attributes in the Excel file

upload the Excel file to Anjana so that it processes the changes
Download for editing
The download for editing of objects generates and downloads an Excel file similar to the metadata download file, which additionally includes two columns to indicate whether the object will be automatically sent for validation and with which user role the submission will be made.
With this, the user has in the file the complete metadata of the objects they want to edit along with the possible values for the preconfigured attributes of reference Metadata, users, organizational units… The metadata Excel also includes the custom attributes of the objects, although these cannot be edited through the Excel file.
The Download for editing action is available in the workspace when the user chooses an object subtype on which they have creation and modification permission with any of their roles.
When selecting this option, the workspace objects are filtered showing only those corresponding to the chosen subtype, but only those in whose organizational unit the user has the permission and whose status allows it (objects in draft, imported or rejected status, or in approved, deprecated or expired status if they have no other pending or draft version) can be marked for editing.
At the bottom of the screen, the number of selected objects is indicated and, in the case of datasets, the number of dataset_fields they have.
NOTES:

Attributes with INHERITABLE validation are not included in the downloaded Excel template since their value is calculated internally by Anjana.
Excel upload for editing
Once the Excel file has been edited to modify the attribute values of the objects, the user must save the changes, renaming the file if desired, and upload it to Anjana for processing.
