Personal Workspace

The workspace is the user's personal work area within the Data Portal. Its purpose is to centralize and facilitate the management of catalog objects that the user needs to work with on a regular basis, allowing them to group, review, and operate on them collectively.

In addition to serving as an organization and consultation area, the workspace acts as an operational environment from which the user can perform advanced actions on sets of objects, such as:

  • Downloading their metadata in Excel format, which allows having the information outside the Portal or preparing bulk edits for subsequent reimport.

  • Performing bulk metadata edits, assigning the same value to multiple objects in one or more attributes of their templates, without needing to edit them one by one.

  • Sending objects for bulk validation, optimizing the governance process when multiple elements must be reviewed and approved simultaneously.

Each user has their own workspace, completely independent from other users', and can add or remove objects according to their work needs. This area is especially useful for preparing data governance tasks, keeping assets of interest organized, or streamlining loading, editing, or validation processes.

Adding objects to the workspace

Anjana Data offers two ways to include objects in the workspace:

  1. in bulk from the Search Portal, and

  2. individually from the detail view of each object.

Both options allow the user to build their personal workspace conveniently and flexibly, according to their needs at any given time.

Adding objects to the workspace in bulk from the Search Portal

When the user needs to work with a large set of objects —for example, several datasets, processes, or terms located through the search engine— they can add them all at once using the “Select objects” option.

Object selection for the personal workspace

This feature is very useful when you need to prepare your workspace for bulk operations (editing, downloads, validations, etc.).

At any time it is possible to Cancel the object selection for the workspace; this way, the per-row selector disappears.

Adding objects to the workspace from an object's detail view

If you only need to add a specific object to the workspace, you can do so directly from its detail page using the actions menu.

How to do it from the detail view

  1. Access the object detail (dataset, report, term, process, etc.).

  2. Open the actions menu (usually represented by three dots or a menu icon).

  3. Select the “Add to workspace” option.

  4. You will see a message indicating that the object has been added successfully.

This option is ideal when you are browsing an object's detail and want to keep it in your personal workspace without needing to return to the Search Portal.
