Access to the Data Portal and Configuration Panel

Access to the Anjana Data Platform Data Portal is done through the login screen, from which the user can authenticate using any of the identity providers enabled in the installation.

Access to the Administration Portal follows the same logic as the Data Portal. The only difference is that it is always necessary to explicitly select a provider, since there is no default provider configured for this environment.

Authentication using assigned credentials

Access to the Portal can be done directly by entering a username and password when the selected provider uses credential-based authentication. There are two scenarios:

Corporate credentials

When Anjana Data Platform is integrated with a corporate identity management system (e.g., AD/LDAP), users can authenticate using their usual credentials as long as:

  • They are registered in the corresponding identity system.

  • They have roles assigned in Anjana Data Platform (which may be a default role).

Internal credentials (Database)

If authentication is performed through the Database provider, users access with the internal credentials assigned to them during the onboarding process in Anjana Data Platform.

Authentication options

The login screen presents an identity provider selector configured on the platform. Depending on the installation, options such as the following may be displayed:

  • Database (Anjana Data Platform's internal authentication mechanism for organizations that do not want to delegate to external systems)

  • AD/LDAP

  • Azure EntraID

  • AWS IAM

  • Google IAM

  • Others

In this selector, Anjana Data Platform will display by default the provider configured as the default option, although the user can choose another available provider before authenticating.

Example of authentication providers

Access via external providers

If the user selects an external provider (such as Google IAM, Azure EntraID, or AWS IAM), they will be automatically redirected to the corresponding provider's authentication form.

Once the process is completed, the provider will return control to Anjana Data Platform, starting the user's session in the Portal without needing to enter any additional information in the tool.

Access via SSO (Single Sign-On)

When the organization has an SSO system, it is possible to fully automate access to the Data Portal, avoiding the need to enter user credentials.

To do this, the provider can be invoked directly by specifying it in the URL using the provider parameter, for example:

…/anjana/login?provider=google

This mechanism allows access to the Data Portal from:

  • corporate links,

  • internal applications,

  • shortcut icons,

  • browser bookmarks.

In this way, users do not need to interact with the login screen.

Access incidents and error messages

During the authentication process, Anjana Data may display different error messages depending on the origin of the problem. These messages help identify whether access has failed due to incorrect credentials or lack of permissions associated with the user.

Invalid credentials (authentication error)

If the user incorrectly enters their username or password, the platform will display an error message indicating that the credentials are not valid, as shown in the image:

https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/docsz/AD_4nXcyQKDHkkUdZbLHNELbJt12-1sfjz682jzWu1tU3lR9idwQ-Dwz9J15tIlEUp7QWccK4kf3hLlx1hNYYY7nu_bzm0Gn5nyj7Aci2gepLakDksoLRyQpGt35fJEhrSD8fcxZwAjE?key=eE4OxRa9KEXEmq0Gh5OpzA
Authentication error

In this case, the user must verify that they are correctly entering their credentials for the selected identity provider.

User without permissions (authorization error)

If the credentials are correct, but the user does not have assigned roles in Anjana Data Platform (not even the default role), the platform will prevent access and display the message:

https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/docsz/AD_4nXc_dzFbyL6Q8o48PiDAS_9wKhARIMZka7Hfy3ZKzECSVB8MTYtE5IWH8sG959UlGziC2SNeu6hzCSAR7Mw3wHsXi6TAfSOo5KhBAiaw_sfbplYG_yrHaan127cEDDsdCUs9dw3OvQ?key=eE4OxRa9KEXEmq0Gh5OpzA
Authorization error

This error indicates that the user exists and has been validated by the identity provider, but does not have permissions to operate within the Data Portal or the Administration Panel.

In either of the above cases —incorrect credentials or lack of permissions— the user must contact the Anjana Data Platform administrator to review:

  • That the user exists in the corresponding identity provider.

  • That they have the appropriate roles assigned in Anjana Data.

  • That they belong to an authorized organizational unit.

Only the administrator can correct these aspects and ensure that access is possible.

Expired or unverifiable license

In some cases, access to the Data Portal or the Configuration Panel may be blocked due to issues related to the Anjana Data license. This may manifest as a message indicating that the license is expired or invalid.

Expired or unverifiable license message

It is important to note that this message may be due to two different situations:

1. License actually expired

If the license has exceeded its validity date, the platform will not allow login until the license is renewed.
In this case, the expiration is effective and requires updating the corresponding subscription agreement.

2. Inability to verify the license

Even if the license is still valid, the platform may display the expiration message if it cannot communicate with the Anjana Data SL telemetry system, which is responsible for validating the license status.

This can occur due to:

  • Lack of Internet connection.

  • Corporate network restrictions.

  • Firewalls or proxies blocking communication.

  • Incorrect configuration of validation endpoints.

When the license cannot be verified, Anjana Data Platform applies a security mechanism that prevents access until connectivity is restored or the block is resolved.
